Good morning and happy Friday! Jesus uses one of the most vivid images in all of Scripture to describe our relationship with Him: a vine and its branches. A branch doesn’t strain to produce fruit. It doesn’t work harder or try more. It simply stays connected to the vine — and the fruit comes naturally.

The key word in this passage is remain — or abide. Stay. Don’t drift. Don’t disconnect. Keep coming back to prayer, to Scripture, to worship, to community. Not as a checklist, but as a lifeline. Because apart from Him, Jesus says plainly: we can do nothing of lasting value.

But connected to Him? Much fruit. That’s the promise. Not some fruit. Not a little fruit. Much fruit. Stay connected to the vine today — and trust Him with the harvest.

🙏 A Prayer for Today

Lord, I want to abide in You today. Help me to stay connected — through prayer, through Your Word, through moment-by-moment dependence on You. I can’t do this on my own. But in You, I can bear much fruit. Amen.
