📖 Today's Verse
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." — John 13:34-35 (NIV)
✨ Devotional
Good morning and happy Sunday! On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus gathered His disciples and gave them a new command — not a suggestion, not a guideline, but a command: love one another. And the standard He set is breathtaking: as I have loved you.
How did Jesus love? Sacrificially. Unconditionally. Patiently. Humbly. He washed feet. He welcomed outcasts. He forgave betrayers. He laid down His life. That’s the standard. Not “love people when it’s easy” or “love people who love you back.” Love one another the way I have loved you.
And here’s the remarkable thing: Jesus says this is how the world will know we belong to Him. Not by our theology alone, not by our church attendance — but by our love. As you head into worship today, ask yourself: who can I love like Jesus this week?
🙏 A Prayer for Today
Lord, thank You for loving me first — sacrificially, unconditionally, completely. Help me to love others the same way today. Give me eyes to see who needs Your love through me, and the courage to give it freely. Amen.
❤️ Encouragement for Your Day
