Good morning! The writer of Hebrews paints a vivid picture: we are runners in a race, surrounded by a great stadium of witnesses — all the saints who have gone before us, who ran their own race faithfully. And they’re cheering us on.

But to run well, we have to travel light. Throw off everything that hinders — not just sin, but anything that slows you down. Bitterness. Distraction. Comparison. Fear. These aren’t just spiritual problems; they’re weights that make the race harder than it needs to be.

And then the key: fix your eyes on Jesus. Not on the other runners. Not on how far you’ve come or how far you have to go. On Jesus — the one who ran the ultimate race and finished it perfectly. Keep your eyes on Him, and keep running. The race marked out for you is worth finishing.

Lord, help me to throw off whatever is slowing me down today. I fix my eyes on You — not on my circumstances, not on others, not on my failures. You are the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Help me to run well today. Amen.
