📖 Today's Verse
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." — Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
✨ Devotional
Good morning! Jesus gives us three action words here — ask, seek, knock — and each one carries a sense of persistence and intentionality. This isn’t a passive promise. It’s an invitation to actively engage with God in prayer.
Sometimes we don’t have because we don’t ask. We stay stuck because we don’t seek. We miss open doors because we never knock. God wants us to come to Him — boldly, repeatedly, expectantly. Not because He needs convincing, but because the act of asking, seeking, and knocking shapes our hearts and deepens our trust in Him.
What do you need to ask God for today? What are you seeking? What door have you been afraid to knock on? Bring it all to Him this morning. He is a good Father who loves to give good gifts to His children.
🙏 A Prayer for Today
Lord, I come to You today with open hands and an expectant heart. I ask You for [your specific need]. I seek Your wisdom and direction. I knock on the doors only You can open. Thank You that You hear me and answer. Amen.
